I have tasted both on my last trip to Moscow, at that very cute Loft Cafe on top of Neptun Shopping Centre overlooking the FSB (former KGB) HQs. I truly believe that Platinum is smoother than the regular Russian Standard, and does not have to be sitting in the freezer for 10 minutes before consumption to be bearable.
Actually, Russian Standard Platinum has won me over Crystall Premium Vodka, which has been my favourite for years.
