I wouldn't count on being allowed into all RCC's under *A Gold benefits, nor even consistently getting into the RCC at DCA, as the benefit is only supposed to be when traveling internationally. You may have gotten an inexperienced agent, or an overly generous one. Unless, of course, your *A Gold comes from a non-American carrier. If you get your *A from, say, LH then anytime you are traveling in the States, regardless of where you live, you're on an International itinerary.
