Chose not to. 6 days in IC Club room would be too costly.

Besides we prefer The Rock area than the location of IC. So much so we have stayed there 3 out of 4 times we visited Sydney. The other time we stayed at Park Hyatt.

Next time (if the Australia dollars can come down some) I would like to try the Apartment type hotels right at the tip of the Circular Quay.

Seriously when it comes to IC, unlike many here, we are not that fond of. We stayed in IC Le Grand for 5 nights a couple years ago. This year we stayed at HI Notre Dame for 3 nights. We actually prefer HI Notre Dame both in terms of the location and the feel of the hotel.

For luxury, we prefer Park Hyatt over IC in many locations. Park Hyatt Sydney remains our most favorite hotel in Sydney. Alas, our Gold Passports are near 0 balance now, so no indulgence.

Park Hyatt Tokyo also trumps all ICs in Tokyo for that matter.

And of course Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris...

Also we would take JW Marriott's 2 locations in London over IC London Any Day!

There are some ICs that are good, such as the one in Istanbul. But many ICs are not in the same league of other chains in which class the IC tries to compete against.

Therefore we chose to make our points go the long way than staying in IC which is not our choice for indulgence.
