Fabulous trip report.

A couple of AA notes (from another UA/AA two-timer)...

- The 767 actually has personal video in the form of a DVD player with about 20 DVDs. Unfortunately they only hand them out on transcons and international flights. I guess it takes too long to check each unit in and out otherwise.

- The $2 headset fee actually BUYS you the headset. Entertainment is free when you have your own headset... the idea is that it is cheaper to sell the headset at cost than for AA to buy it )knowing several will walk away anyhow) and then pay to have every single set onboard cleaned over and over again.

- UA seats ARE much better than AA's... no question. I've finally learned to sleep in an AA business seat after watching others. For the longest time, however, I could never sleep on AA unless I was in F on a 767 or 777.

Overall, I rate UA and AA dead equal. I think that ultimately it comes down to what routes you will be flying and what is most important to you in flight.

I pick UA for some routes and AA for some. And (rarely) I just don't care which I fly.
