I am interested to see if others share my poor opinion of this month’s J class menu on the intercontinental service to the USA and hope that it is not a sign of the future.

Actually I had these two items coming back FRA-JFK and thought the appetizer was really very good and tasty. My only comment was that I would have liked a bigger portion of salmon, however, our FA for whatever reason - perhaps me and my seatmate looked hungry offered seconds. We both declined.

The lamb stew was good but was a bit heavy for a summer flight particularly since LH likes to keep the cabin warm. There were at least three red wines on offer and the FAs were really excellent, giving recommendations on wines and trying to get us to try extra appetizers and mains - on a full A380. I guess LH loads enough extra meals - something the U.S. carriers don't.

As to the LH J seat, the key is to get a bulkhead or exit row and put a small bag or soft briefcase on the footrest. I am able to create a pretty comfortable virtually flat bed and sleep very well.
