I'll definitely take your advice on board about avoiding "Lucky Plaza"; especially where jailbreaking is concerned as I jailbroke my iPod Touch 4th Gen within days of buying it last year and an iPad should be just as easy to jailbreak.
How much do prices vary between the official Apple Store in SG and the other stores that you mentioned? Also, are accessories pretty cheap in SG, especially official ones as the prices here are obscenely expensive for them! For example, an official USB Power Adapter for an iPod Touch costs £25 whereas I got a third-party one by Belkin for under £7!!!
As for the iPod Touch itself, if this year's one turns out to be an incremental upgrade (in other words, only minor changes and no upgrade in storage for the top of the range version from 64GB to 128GB or more), I'll wait till next year and buy one in SG and buy one there as well if it's improved in a way that I like.
I know that I'm taking a risk where import duty/tax is concerned in the UK if I get caught with importing them, but at the same time, I'd still save money, especially if I get a GST refund on them.
