I'm not EXP so I don't have much skin in the game. By the time there's any kind of upgrade standby list at all, Golds aren't getting upgraded either way. But I do think the EXP's or others on the upgrade list should be in F with the nonrevs in Y.
Most categories of NRPS travel can only confirm coach and standby for an upgrade to first class subject to availability (after all revenue pax requesting an upgrade get it). NRPS passengers confirmed in Y but wanting to upgrade to first will show up on the PALL list with the code of UPGE and are below all revenue categories of upgrader (UPG1, UPG2, etc.)

The UPGE priority code is further subdivided behind the scenes so that an A10 (level 5-6 management employee) NRPS requesting an upgrade would be above an A12 (non management) on the PALL list.

If you go to work for AA, be a Managing Director or higher since they get to confirm positive space travel in first, even for personal travel, as opposed to rolling the upgrade dice!
