Agree with cornishsimon ... that's a big waste of TPs, and surely justifies a TP run. I think there's a big difference between flying to achieve status, and flying to avoid wasting a large pile of TPs.

I doubt you will get any luck and/or sympathy from BAEC.

I'm tuned in to the subject, having spent an hour this morning planning the next 24 months' travel [and associated TPs] to try to prevent exactly that sort of problem.
