Funny story: This trip (including the return flight) earned me enough miles so that i now have Silver Status with Etihad. And even better - the month i took that trip there was a promotion that earned me double the miles in business class and tripple the miles in first. So with this trip alone i earned enough miles for a business class return trip to Dubai for example.
I am glad this TR got bumped. In part this TR has prompted me to 'push the button'. My trip home to Oz for Christmas will be in the lap of luxury you describe so beautifully in both words and pictures. I only have to wait another 6 months.
