I've recently claimed in this forum that Australia is reasonably sane in its reaction to possible terrorist activity. However, (in the interest of full disclosure) I'm disappointed to report that this morning I saw a "See something, Say something" poster at one station on the Sydney suburban rail network. It's not a station I pass often, and I haven't seen such a poster on my usual route.
If I could have seen a number (it was a few platforms away) I'd be tempted to call and say I saw a train. Oh, look, there's another one! And some people. Ooooo, look, a car! Now I see some buildings. More people. A MacDonald's. More cars...
Or "I saw
something, but my mother taught me it wasn't polite to draw attention to people who are different. Hope that's okay. Kthxbi."
Seriously, I find the whole SS, SS thing a creepy idea with bad historical precedents.
