Seriously i tend to find AF Y catering usually very tasty and did really enjoyed a "sauté d'agneau aux olives et purée au raifort" on a recent long haul flight.
Yes, on intercontinental fllights. The OP is refering to intra-Europe where you hardly get anything these days; even in C. KLM does indeed has much better catering on intra-European flights, both in Y and C.
