I think it is more expensive than that. The whole Scandinavia is never a low-cost destination. It seems to get more expensive each year.
It would be a shame not to do the fjords if one already is at Bergen.
Agree on the fjords is not a "package" you could buy from outside the country. The drive is no more "white knuckle" than a drive in the Northwest corner of NZ's South Island.
