A holder of the standardised "class D" document (which would be pretty much any work or residence permit issued in the last few years) for a Schengen state is permitted to travel to other Schengen states for no more than 90 days in a rolling 180 day period. One day is considered to be spent in a Schengen state other than one that issued the permit if any part of that day is spent in one or more Schengen states other than the issuing state. Days spent entirely in the state that issued the permit are not counted towards the 90 day limit.
