I've said this before, but we're very lucky widespread use of internet did not happen ten years later than it did. Some may recall when the news media breathlessly reported that Timothy McVeigh had an AOL account. For whatever reason, that freaked a lot of people out and there were some brief calls to Do Something About It™.
