I signed up for the aa shopping and hopefully that will get me the miles I need, but like you all said, not sure if I will get them on time for a summer trip. Thinking about east coast (to DC area) towards end of August but haven't really check availability yet.

I might just need to cough up $58 dollars to get 1000 miles, the thought of that just totally stinks... Do you know if I do get the miles, do I need to book for them over the phone since they are kids? When they travel couple months ago using miles from my account, I have to call in and pay extra because I am booking just the kids ticket (I was on travel so they came and visit, and my wife bought a separate ticket since I got reimbursed). Would AA allow you to book award ticket for minors online?

Another thought/question. Anyone have SPG points transferred to their AA account? Must the names match between the two? Back then I transferred from my SPG account to my AA account, but wonder if I can transferred into their account.
