Yes, I used my credit card. I use my debit card as a credit card 99% of the time for this reason.
Just using your debit card as credit does not give you the protections a credit card gives. Most of the time, once the money is out of your bank account when using your debit card (even as credit) you are out of luck. A credit card you can do a charge back if services are not delivered, and if the credit card company finds in their investigation that this is true, you do not pay anything. Just FYI, although I wouldn't be too worried about your flights.
