My daughter lives in Melbourne and is currently staying with me in the UK with her two small children, having arrived on 2nd June. She booked her tickets (Y Flex and miles to upgrade to J) back in April and was able to upgrade the first flight and was waitlisted for upgrade on the return - both she and her 3 year old son are Gold. I have been investigating the possibilities of travelling back to Melbourne with her in July but at present the prices are astronomical so this may not happen! However, we were discussing which flights she was booked on and her booking did not agree with the flight schedule on line. Today she managed to contact EK (after several attempts and being cut off twice) and discovered that there has been a schedule change ("10 days to 2 weeks ago") and she had not been notified, which meant that instead of being booked on the direct DXB/MEL which connected with the evening flight from LGW, her booking now had her travelling via SIN, which was the last thing she wanted to do with two under fours. Eventually all was sorted out and she now has the flights that she wanted but when asked why she had not been informed of this change she was told that it is done in order of priority - obviously a Gold booked in Y does not count!
