One way to get your spending complete is just before the 3 months is up, book a cruise like 18 months out and put a deposit down to cover your remaining spending requirement. Continue your normal spending habits and hopefully in that same month you will finish the 3K. Then just cancel your cruise and you will get a full refund. That basically extends your timeframe to complete the spend. Just be sure to check with the cruise but if you book it and cancel before the set time (usually full refund up to six months before sailing so thats why i said 18 months just to be very safe) you get a full refund and it costs you zero. What's better is you can do this while sitting at home on your computer so it's not a hassle to do. I have not done this but I can't see why it wouldn't work.
