Alaska doesn't operate a 739 on any of the milk runs. They use the 737-400, either the combi or the regular 400. As far as getting off the plane in PSG, WRG or any other city in Southeast, it depends really. First off, the only place you can go really is the "terminal". You can't stand on the ramp area at all so it's either in the plane or in the terminal. Once you get off the plane in PSG, WRG, CDV or YAK you have to leave a secure area and pass through security again to get back to the plane.
Not true in KTN. You can get off the plane in KTN even with the combi and go up the stairs to the secure area (though you need an employee to unlock the door). Other airports, you are correct. But the airports are so small that "passing through security" is almost a non-issue.
