Hilton only allows you to earn points for rooms you will be occupying (or an additional room on one folio you will be paying for in addition to the room you occupy).

Some will post work arounds, way to fiddle the reservation, and how to lie and try and get points. It may work, it may not. Your choice if you try it or not. Some hotels care about this and some don't. No real way to know till it happens.
