Could glycerin in my haircare product trigger a false positive?

In another thread I read glycerin might have been the cause for a traveler's false positive reading.

Glycerin happens to be an ingredient in my favorite haircare product, and I often absent mindedly run my fingers through my hair - thus leaving traces on my hands I'd imagine. And of course my hands would be in contact with my purse and the handles of my carryon etc...

So would you people avoid using this product on travel days? Or have I spent too many hours reading this forum today and now I've finally gone over the edge?
