In the spirit of the tolerance of the BA to OT posts, and its wealth of accumulated knowledge and wisdom in all things related to international travel, I hope that the mods tolerate this post.

We're relocating as a family (to PEK), and it's coming up quite soon (a couple of months). We've been really busy, and also in denial a teeny bit, but it's now time to get serious. We need to ship some stuff: at a minimum my wife's upright piano, paintings, clothes and books, but also maybe some furniture such as bed, sofa etc. We have a limited, but not totally unreasonable budget from my new work (c. $7k).

Can any board members recommend any particular firms in the US? I would want them to do the packing, be reliable (my wife will kill me if the piano doesn't make it one piece!), but if there are several choices, more economical will also play into it.
