Astonishing, really, that so much creative energy has been wasted (yes boys & girls, wasted) on trying to sink the boot into me for "bullying" some bloke than none of you know from Adam.

Rest assured that I really do love children and animals, and would do anything to protect them (unless they were standing someplace that had to be bombed in the national interest).

You really have to wonder about the motivation for all the grandstanding. Does anyone here REALLY think that my opinion, or future actions, are likely to be influenced?

Of course not.

Salveing your own consciences, no doubt.

As I said, it's a hard world. There are those who will succeed & get what they want, those who won't, and those who will die trying. I'll take A or C, you lot can have B.

No, I'm not examining the validity of your argument at some deep ID-like level, your Fraudian notions of "inner child" are way off base. You would do well to either hunt down Otto Rank's work on the notion of WILL, or (probably easier) learn German and find current editions of his work in the original language.

Psychobabble aside, I agree that travelling is a "competitive sport", and that those who choose to be victims will be victims.

Choose your target wisely.

This means that healthy adult males are fair game. I'll gladly stand for a two-hour train ride and surrender my seat to a lady or elderly/ infirm man (golly gosh, even Asians) but everyone else can join the bearpit. If they don't have the balls to tell people like me to go to hell (and I have to wonder how many of those claiming to do so, actually WOULD when confronted) then they get to wear it.

Do I re-evaluate people, and modify my behaviour toward them accordingly? Sure, after putting them to the test. If they pass, welcome to the fold. If they don't, then the peasants can step aside.

This is getting grossly off-topic. Anyone who feels compelled to save my soul can do so via email - [email protected]

I don't see how this is off topic. You posted your trip report, people posted their thoughts. I was under the impression that that's what this forum is all about. If you don't like what people respond, perhaps you should reconsider posting your trip report here. Surely there's some forum out there where people will give you the approval you so badly desire.

It's funny... despite your best efforts to show otherwise, you have all the sophistication and class of a brick.

As one of the airline employee "droids" for whom you show so much disdain, let me be the first to say that people like you are among my favorite ones to deal with... while there aren't a whole lot of folks quite as insecure as you appear to be and with inferiority complexes quite as massive as yours, few things give me as much pleasure as putting people like you in their place. You can only take advantage of the system for so long. Eventually somebody figures it out and lowers the boom. So while you might take great pleasure in thumbing your nose at everybody and showing off your great intelligence and sophistication and generally frustrating everybody that has taken a few moments to voice their disgust, you don't frustrate me one bit. It'll catch up to you sooner or later. And the best part is, one of those "droids" will be the one that figures it out.

See you in the bear pit, shillard.
