Astonishing, really, that so much creative energy has been wasted (yes boys & girls, wasted) on trying to sink the boot into me for "bullying" some bloke than none of you know from Adam.

Rest assured that I really do love children and animals, and would do anything to protect them (unless they were standing someplace that had to be bombed in the national interest).

You really have to wonder about the motivation for all the grandstanding. Does anyone here REALLY think that my opinion, or future actions, are likely to be influenced?

No, I'm not examining the validity of your argument at some deep ID-like level, your Fraudian notions of "inner child" are way off base. You would do well to either hunt down Otto Rank's work on the notion of WILL, or (probably easier) learn German and find current editions of his work in the original language.

Psychobabble aside, I agree that travelling is a "competitive sport", and that those who choose to be victims will be victims.

This means that healthy adult males are fair game. I'll gladly stand for a two-hour train ride and surrender my seat to a lady or elderly/ infirm man (golly gosh, even Asians) but everyone else can join the bearpit. If they don't have the balls to tell people like me to go to hell (and I have to wonder how many of those claiming to do so, actually WOULD when confronted) then they get to wear it.

Do I re-evaluate people, and modify my behaviour toward them accordingly? Sure, after putting them to the test. If they pass, welcome to the fold. If they don't, then the peasants can step aside.
