you mis-read, it is not referring to the lounge but to lounge memberships -- those are the only paid programs in *A system
Eligible Paid Lounge Membership Customers include: United Airlines Red Carpet Club, US Airways Club, Air Canada Maple Leaf Club - Worldwide, and Continental Airlines Presidents Club.

Maple Leaf Club has two level of memberships -- Worldwide (which is worldwide) and regular (which limited to Maple Leaf lounges , some USA RCCs and some LH lounges)
