You promote CP as being in tune with Edmonton needs when they were the first ones to pull International Service from YEG with the LHR flight and they never did offer Frankfurt when they had the chance. The ORD and LAX flights were put into their sked as a they had their last gasps as an airline and it was the CP folks [the ones who are now AC] that convinced AC to cancell the flights because to quote CP marketing people "they are dogs", meaning no money regardless of how many people were onboard.

CP had the "AirBus" from the Muni for years and just funnelled what ever they could to YYC. It was CP that started with the bypass flights that went YMM, YQU, YXS non-stop to YYC.

You say that you were on the YEG-LHR flights last summer. So was my Son. He was able to get a whole row [and could have had two or three rows] to lie down on and sleep and they were not his assigned seats. This was weekend travel in the first week of August.

Look at Air Transats schedule for this summer overseas. Five flights from YYC and ONE from YEG. Why? Because, YEG people will not support their own city and will drive to YYC. The Airport Authority has been beating their heads against a cement wall trying to change that.

Sorry to get carried away here, but I also beat my head while I was in YUL on behalf of my home town. When the chips were counted at the end of each day, YEG did not pay to anywhere except YYZ. I tried to fight the name "Deadmonton", but it is deserved.
