It is often wise for a frequent flyer to bank some points with more than one program. AA will not always have the award you want. CO/UA is an excellent back up option. I sugest transfer your points to them and use them for a free flight one day when AA does not have any seats adn CO/UA (or any star alliance carrier) does.

If you are set on flying AA with those points, your best bet is to:
1) - Redeem them for paid flights; Chase lets you charge any airline you want tp your card and will let you pay for the flights with points.
2) - Transfer to Brithish Airways. You cannot combine your BA miles with your AA miles. BUT you CAN redeem british airways miles for flights on AA.
