Hi,

I will be working out of Sweden for next 6 and have already obtained a Swedish work permit.
Wanted to know if I can travel to Amsterdam or other locations within Schengen zone for a few days on vacation during the time I am working in Sweden on my Swedish work permit or do I need to separately apply for a tourist/Schengen visa for the country I will be traveling to.

I was planning for a trip from Stockholm to Amsterdam over a weekend in August and probably a week long trip to Rome in October. Not sure if I need to apply for Schengen. People have told me that I can travel freely within Schengen zone on my Swedish work permit but I wanted to be sure before I book the tickets.
Any idea?
