another question re transcon BE... is it only available to paid pax (miles or cash), or are elites eligible for unlimited comp upgrades like on all other doestic routes? just curious. I know UA has a different upgrade policy for their PS transcon routes as i am sure AA does as well.
Not sure how paid business folks are treated, but a friend who had a swap for a non-intl 757 on an upgrade complained about the lack of IFE and was given a generous miles bonus.
On upgrades, they allow non-instrument based elite upgrades, but they are only cleared at the gate. No advance windows. AA has no different policy for transcon upgrades vs other domestic --- UA is the odd one out.
