Both AA and BA offer one-way awards. This means you can construct a trip using AA miles in one direction and BA miles in the other.

Any "Saaver" award flight that you can find on aa.com should be available to book with BA miles. However, BA's award chart and rules are not identical to AA, and you will need to spend some time learning about redeeming BA miles for "partner" flights.
