Luggage handling
In the past month, I had a flight canceled at ORD due to weather. It was the last of the night, and I needed to retrieve my bag for the night. The agent at the counter who relisted me for the next day sent a request to Baggage service and warned me that it would be about an hour to get the bag. One hour and forty-five minutes later, after repeated conversations with the baggage agents, the bag showed up. I don't fault them, there are thousands (ten-thousands??) of bags at O'Hare and trying to find one bag is going to take some time. My only issue is that no one seemed to know anything about where the process was (whether the request was even being processed), and the realization that since the retrieval service "stopped" at 10pm, after all that time, they might not pull the bag after all. It was one of the time that I was thankful for ff status on American. I think it made the difference between getting my bag that not or not. Other passengers were not being given their bags with the same time frame.
