Thanks for the replies everyone - to answer your questions:
bbinchi - the Pol Roger was 1995 Blanc de Chardonnay
catwood - the ckeck-in island is a small circular room which can be entered directly from the curb/road. It consists of four desks, each with a computer and two separate sitting chairs. While you are checked in, your bags are tagged by a separate assistant and carried away. Not sure how many people actually use the chairs...
You are able to select a drink of champagne or coffee if you wish.
aw: indeed all MD11s are now configured with the new set-up. I would recommend seats in the last row (Row 3).
airoli: the First Class Lounge...! I'm afraid that you are sworn to secrecy once you have been in there. Well - OK - not really. It was kind of large - about the same size as the combined Business and Travel Club lounges (excluding the smoking area and computer terminals) - had rows of deep brown leather armchairs and a row of cubicals with slumberettes/beds where you could have a rest. No boarding calls are made so it's a bit difficult to judge when you need to make your way to the aircraft. There is waiter service for all your drinks, and they have an interesting selection of aged Kirsh. There is a single computer terminal hooked up to the internet.
Cheers
