I agree with that - just checked in for my first stay at the IC SIN and have received fantastic service and an upgrade from cheapest available to a King Club Premier room.

The IC is also well positioned for a day in SIN before you head back to the airport.

Given that the CP is often considerably more expensive than the IC, then if you are not a plane-spotter, or a lover of airport fast-food, the choice is pretty clear.
I decided to stay at the IC even though I have an early morning flight out of SIN. That primarily came down to cost though - the CP is really nice, convenient (obviously), and good on plat benefits. The only negative is the stupendously expensive Internet access.
