For bars: Gin Palace, Double Happiness, The Supper Club, Der Raum (although I believe this may just have gone members only?), Croft Institute, Section 8, Cookie (but not at peak time on a Friday/Saturday, the wait for drinks is ridiculous). Gin Palace is my favourite by far.

Have dinner at the Waiter's Restaurant at the parliament end of the CBD, Movida Aqui is great, Station Hotel in Footscray does beautiful food, can second the recommendation for +39 for pizza.

We have done the Melbourne Amazing Race which was great fun if you can find a partner. Would also recommend Book Town at Clunes (although you'll have to wait a while now), Moonlight Cinema is definitely one to add to the list. The various markets at Fed Square, in particular the Melbourne Design Market (on in July) are worth a visit.
