I used ba.com to find availability and booked 3 J seats on JKF-ORD-AMM and then 2 J and 1 Y on AMM-JFK at 331 days out. I checked back regularly and the additional J seat for the return never opened up.
A quick check on ba.com shows 3 J seats for May 12 ORD-AMM on RJ0264. I'd recommend that flight, though the food was dreadful (crunchy rice).
Thanks- That's the answer I was looking for, as I'm noticing the same thing.
I imagine that their J class cabins over the summer do eventually fill up with a combination of last minute paid J, counter paid upgrades, and favors/Op-ups from overselling Y.
I'm going to try some contacts at RJ in AMM to see how locked they are on opening those seats.
