Yes talking about motorways in a thread about moderators is Off Topic from the topic of the thread, but whilst is is On Topic for the Topic of the thread it is Off Topic for the Topic of the Forum which is BA so for a Topic to be On Topic it would have to include some direct or indirect reference or consequence to BA otherwise it would be Off Topic so the OP was correct to state that his Topic was Off Topic.

Edited as I have just noticed that OP did not state that his Topic was Off Topic but Off Topic it undoubtedly is and one of the best Topics of the day IMHO.
