I donīt remember exactly how it was supposed to go, when they receided the 717s. They now have 7 and will receive 2 more this summer and they cannoīt keep all their routes with only 9 planes. Cutting routes is always bad, not that Iīm in love with SAS/Blue1, but theyīve offered an alternative to Finnair on many routes. What Iīve always wondered about their operations is why they shuffle routes like crazy. Flying to WAW, then giving up and letting LOT handle it on their own, starting TXL, ending it and then re-starting 18 months later, trying HAM etc.
I assume Berlin will end, once again and as AirBerlin is joining OW, no more competition with Finnair. One of my favourite routes. EasyJet left Finland during this summer too. If Blue1 cuts CDG, now that Easyjet is gone and AirFrance co-operates with Finnair on the route, Norwegian should try that. Transfering in FRA or MUC isnīt that nice when a direct alternative is avalable. I donīt mind tranferring at either if travelling to letīs say LYS where no direct flights are available. At least Norwegian came to challenge Finnair. I sincerely hope, they succeed.
