I wonder what kind of "confirmation" of seat assignment the OP had.
If it was something issued by the travel agent (not AA), then, for me, she really had not confirmed her seat before traveling.

If the OP logged on to AA.com or called AA and was confirmed the seat she wanted...then...sure...her seat assignment was changed, but...was it?
