Any contact e-mail or phone number to reach a [decision maker] at Amex Canada
I have been frustrated trying to get a problem solved with my new (Canadian) Amex Airmiles Credit Card. I have called several times and gotten a canned response from various third world call centre employees, and I have used the online contact form and gotten a form letter which ignored my concerns. I'd like to find a way to contact a Canadian or American person at Amex who can discuss things without giving me a scripted nonsensical response like the call centre employees did.
The issue is: I applied for a new Amex credit card and received one with a credit limit of $1000.00 Given that I have paid all my cards in full each month for the past twenty years, have zero debt, paid off my mortgage 15 years ago, have in the low 7 figures in the bank, and earn in the low to mid six figures, most credit cards I apply for give my a credit limit of between $10,000.00 and $20,000.00 and I usually ask to have the credit limit lowered. My wife, who earns less than 10% of what I earn, applied for the same card at the same time, and received a credit limit over $3000.00.
I have had several different Amex cards over the past 10 years or so with no missed payments.
I checked my credit reports and there is nothing out of line there.
I can only figure that Amex made a mistake by one digit on my credit limit.
After getting the run-around from various call centre employees I would like to speak to someone who is a native English speaker who is willing to actually look into this issue rather than giving me another canned/scripted response. A credit card with a limit less than $5000.00 is of no use to me and will be shredded.
If any one can direct me who to phone or write to try to address this issue I would be grateful.
