It pretty much works like this
You say where you want to fly and when you want to go and what you want to pay.
If Priceline can find flights that match all that they will charge you and book them for you.
You can't select the airline, the time, where the connections will be, and don't have the ability to accept or reject what they give you. If you are that flexible it may save you some money, but Boston to Florida around the winter holidays is a super peak time, so I would not expect the airlines to be releasing many (if any) seats to priceline.
