It appears that booking travel through CapitalOne just means you are using cap1 points to pay for travelocity at the normal 1 cent per mile exchange.

The better way to do this is to just book directly at hilton.com, enter you HHonors # to get all diamond benefits and also the award points, pay with the cap1 card then get a statement credit for 'previously purchased travel' afterwards at the same 1 cent per mile rate.

Not sure if you can cancel the hotel booked through the capitalone/travelocity website and get your points back, but if you can, then I'd do that and rebook at hilton.com directly.
