All flights are on *A except YYC-YUL and the taxes and fees are in the $800 for F. What gives?? Shouldn't I be able to get it closer to $250?? Any secrets I need to know?

Why don't you try
YYC-EWR or LGA (maybe with a connection in DEN or SFO with UA)
JFK-ZRH LX

This will avoid any AC segments and you won't be charged YQ. The rest of the fees look pretty high as well but without a breakdown it would be very hard to see how you might be able to bring the fees down
