I'd carried it through three flights prior, two of which involved the bag containing it being x-rayed. I'd also carried it on every other trip I'd taken between 9/11 and now, but you are right; the rules they keep a-changin.

I half figured she wanted to just find something because I'd objected (politely) to her touching me with the wand. OTOH, it would be more effective than shoelaces, I guess. I was just thankful she came up with the "lock it in the cockpit" solution instead of out and out confiscating it. Those things cost $30 or $40 and my employer REQUIRES their use with company laptops.

I guess I'd have to put it in checked baggage going forward. However, on my next trip, I'm doing back to back transcons and won't be able to check anything on the crisscross flights. I go through DTW twice on that crisscross. Guess I'll just hope for the best!
