Ice and snow are very different things, and a visual inspection of snow having blown off does not address the issue of ice buildup on control surfaces, especially in a high-wing aircraft like the ARJ-85 where a visual inspection is not particularly easy to conduct.</font>
Indeed he DID say that. And the smiley I was looking for was rolleyes, but I don't know how to make it right. Scared the crap out of me, though they'd earlier announced that snow on the wings was the reason for the de-icing.
