I understand cash advances are expensive, but I've never actually done one, so I'm not really familiar with the costs. When I am out of the country, I try to use Chase or Cap1 cards so that I don't have to pay the fee, but so many places don't take cards, just cash.
On my most recent trip, I spent $50+ at the ATM, because I kept having to take out more cash. Although cash advances are expensive, I'm just curious if anyone's ever done the math to figure out if they might be cheaper than the ATM when the ATM charges fees and the transaction cost. (Athough I guess the credit card company's charge the same fees.)
