I hear ya.

Last night I came up with an inkling of a theory that DL is handing out status like candy to dilute the Medallion ranks so much that people will pay $$ for FC instead of counting on the upgrade.

(Clearly, I spend too much time thinking about flying. )

Problem is, if everybody's "special", no one is special. It's getting to be like peewee soccer where every kid gets a trophy just for showing up. Look at SkyPriority security in ATL (South) - I gave up on it, the big general security area in the middle is way faster (at least it is on days/times I'm there).
