Indeed. The last thing that had me consider doing a re-qualification for BD*G was the benefit of lifetime BD*G status after ten such years in a row; however I ditched the idea given this situation with LH ownership has led me to conclude that BD*G really is not worth pursuing despite having a good number of consecutive years of BD*G status behind me too.

Then again, I'm not as close to lifetime BD*G as the OP. If the expenditure were considered worth it for two years of *G status -- in other words excluding the "lifetime" consideration -- then, I'd perhaps consider it. [Given I have multiple other *G status cards secured until 2013, I'd probably not pursue it -- that's just me.]
