Every guest is important to be clear and many folks self included start in Gold Passport or any program without status.I agree that you are entitled to a decent standard room.
Even as a top tier member of many programs I don't always receive that
If it matters to me I speak up.I don't really care about the view unless I am at a very special destination or with others.

My suggestion to you would be to contact Hyatt Consumer Affairs and report your experience if you feel your stay wasn't up to par and living up to reasonable expectation.I sometimes try to deal directly at the hotel first giving them a chance to make things right
