The 747, DC-10 and L-1011 all had less seats per row in Y when they were introduced.

The 747 had a 2-4-3 configuration and the DC-10 and L-1011 were 2-4-2. I've seen pictures of the L-1011 that have a sort of divider in the middle of the 4-block with a place to hang coats.
