I may have cleared an EUA on an award ticket. Booked an F award via UA MP IST-JFK/LGA-IAH, was seated in Y LGA-IAH at booking due to availability with no waitlisting for F on *A award tickets (UA MP policy). Paid taxes ($5) with SPG Amex.

At LGA, I called UA to switch to an earlier flight (and did so with no fee, for reasons I don't really understand) and found myself #1 on the UG waitlist (the ticket was NOT rebooked in revenue Y or anything). CO cleared the waitlist about halfway through boarding coach (I chose not to board with elites, despite the bin space risk, to avoid lazy GA shenanigans) and I got the UG.
